About
*Essential Job Functions*
* Interpretation and understanding of air cooling and heating and air conditioning.
* Installation of heating and air conditioning equipment.
* Maintenance work shall consist of all repair, service and maintenance work on domestic, commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning and air cooling, and oil burner apparatus and heating apparatus et., including but not exclusively the charging, evacuation, leak testing and assembling for all machines for domestic, commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning and heating apparatus.
* Servicing work shall be the adjusting, including capacity adjustments, checking and repairing or replacement of all controls and startup of all machines and repairing all defects that may develop on any system for domestic, commercial and industrial refrigeration and all air conditioning, air cooling, and oil burner apparatus and heating apparatus regardless of size or type.
* Must be able to communicate, understand and carry out general oral and written instructions whether working with others or alone on a service call.
* Must be able to provide a legible daily electronic service report and complete other necessary job related documentation in a timely fashion.
* Use available resources to define issues and solve problems.
* Must be able to work safely with hazardous chemicals.
* Position requires moderate physical exertion.
* Outdoor working conditions and exposure to changing environmental conditions.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Requirements*
* Completion of a trade school program or documentation of five years field experience with certificate of completion from an accredited vocational program
* Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, controls and equipment.
* Knowledge of refrigeration cycle, refrigerants, refrigerant safety including applications, methods and tools used in installing, recovery, operating, maintaining and repairing refrigeration systems
* Knowledge of electricity and circuitry as used in air conditioning systems and controls. Safe practices of working with and testing electrical systems
* Knowledge of air distribution systems, including testing and balancing.
* Knowledge of hydronic systems, components, and procedures.
* Ability to use and care for tools and measuring and testing equipment
* Soldering and brazing techniques and safety procedures
* Valid driver’s license (without restrictions)
* Must be willing to join the local union
*Essential Physical Abilities*
* Must be willing to travel to client sites
* Frequently required to stand, sit, and climb ladders.
* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
* Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with subordinates and customers.
* Exposure to outdoors and construction sites
*Education/Experience*
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Universal EPA Certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
