Position Purpose:
The JWCH- Wesley Health Centers Mobile Dental Unit Driver is responsible for providing customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate, delivery of the JWCH mobile dental units to designated locations within regional territories of Los Angeles County in order to promote our objectives of empowering children to practice good oral health, partnering with government and the profession to improve children's oral health, and reducing the prevalence of dental caries worldwide. This position is located in Los Angeles area. JWCH Mobile Dental Unit Drivers are ambassadors who represent JWCH - Wesley Health Centers to our consumer base. They are the point of contact and liaison for JWCH - Wesley Health Centers visits in a range of venues, including schools, colleges, Health fairs, conventions, festivals, and other community events. They are empowered to resolve customer issues to ensure consistent demonstration of service excellence and community outreach.
Principal Responsibilities: Operate and safely drive the Mobile Dental Unit (up to 32') over the road, which includes navigating in crowds and following parameters set by sponsoring agencies of event locations. Must be flexible to work various hours and weekends based on the schedule of the event and organizational needs. Perform daily setup of the Mobile Dental Unit at scheduled locations. This includes setting up the mobile unit, cleaning, and restocking supplies. Provide effective customer service as the "first point-of-contact" to dental partners, event coordinators, volunteers, and the public, which may include answering basic JWCH - Oral Health Department program information, answering logistics questions, and directing inquiries/media requests to designated representatives. Schedule maintenance and repair of mobile dental units, e.g., oil changes, accident repairs, etc., and maintain event equipment (tables, awnings, banners, televisions, etc.). Fuel the vehicle as needed. Maintain mobile unit registration forms and related equipment documentation. Collaborate with facilities and the Mobile Dental Unit Manager to ensure compliance with insurance, licensing, and mechanical requirements. Communicate through email, phone, and basic computer systems to gain information for scheduling, review event requirements, and record results as required. Liaise with third-party agencies, including maintenance and leasing services, retail establishments, mobile unit storage providers, and events management companies, as part of ongoing duties. Ensure safety during events, including safe entry and exit of the mobile dental unit and staffing registration area, including assisting individuals with mobility challenges using ramps and lifts. Promote and employ safe work practices when handling products on and off company vehicles. Coordinate with dental staff to ensure equipment and supplies are properly loaded and secured for transit. Operate company vehicles safely and professionally, complying with federal, state, and local laws and JWCH's guidelines. Maintain JWCH vehicle logs as required by law and all company documents. Attend JWCH - Oral Health Program meetings, Dental Operations meetings, as well as virtual/online trainings as needed. Support dental staff with non-driving duties to ensure smooth clinic operations. Exercise professional judgment consistent with organizational policies, ethics, and code of conduct. Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required Class C driver license and able to meet DOT requirements Minimum of (2) years driving experience in a vehicle with a gross weight rating of 10,001 Lbs. or more (such as bus, recreational or delivery vehicle) Satisfactory completion of the background check including Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record within 30 days of hire Bilingual: English /Spanish is required. Preferred qualifications include:
Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License 1-year or more professional driving experience with a Class A/B Commercial Driver's license
