We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our operations in Washington, D.C. This role is vital for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our facility. You will operate various types of equipment to transport, store, and manage inventory, ensuring smooth logistics flow. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage locations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support overall logistics operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role, including forklift operation certification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for material handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
