Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse facility in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be instrumental in the efficient processing of incoming shipments, ensuring all goods are accurately recorded, inspected, and stored. You will work as a vital link in our Logistics chain, contributing to the smooth flow of products from suppliers to our distribution center. This position requires a proactive approach to managing incoming freight, identifying damages or discrepancies, and communicating effectively with carriers and internal teams. Your diligence in verifying shipments and maintaining organized receiving areas will directly impact our operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
  • Document all received items, including quantities, product details, and condition.
  • Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipment status.
  • Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
  • Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support overall Logistics operations.
  • Ability to handle Lifting of products weighing up to 40 lbs is essential.
  • Ensure compliance with company Safety standards at all times.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WMS and inventory control principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of basic Safety protocols.
