We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic **logistics** team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our distribution center, involving the safe and efficient movement of materials. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and stack inventory, ensuring timely order fulfillment and accurate stock management. A strong focus on **safety** is mandatory, requiring strict adherence to all company **safety** policies and the consistent use of **PPE**. This position requires precision, reliability, and the ability to manage **lifting** requirements inherent in warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the facility.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct placement and securing of goods.
- Move, stack, and retrieve inventory from racking systems.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and **safe** work environment.
- Follow all **safety** guidelines, including mandatory **PPE** usage (e.g., hard hat, safety vest, steel-toed boots).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members.
- Handle associated **lifting** and movement of product, typically palletized.
- Contribute to the overall success of the **logistics** department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current and valid forklift operator certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Solid understanding of **logistics** workflows and warehouse procedures.
- Commitment to workplace **safety** and adherence to all **safety** protocols.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and occasional **lifting** of up to 50 lbs.
- Must wear all required **PPE** consistently and correctly.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
