We are looking for a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our logistics process. Your primary responsibilities will include unloading deliveries, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately recording received items into our inventory system. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you will be expected to follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves manual handling of goods, and you should be comfortable with lifting items up to 40 pounds. Attention to detail is critical to prevent errors in inventory counts and ensure smooth downstream operations. You will work closely with suppliers, drivers, and our internal warehouse teams to facilitate a seamless receiving process. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers.
- Verify quantities and item codes against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately enter received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label inventory appropriately.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal staff.
Requirements:
