About
We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to be a key player in our growing logistics facility located in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves the safe and efficient movement, organization, and storage of goods throughout our warehouse. The successful candidate will be physically robust, detail-oriented, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. Your contribution will directly impact our supply chain performance.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Transport materials, supplies, and products to and from designated areas using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles accurately and safely.
- Store materials in designated racks, shelves, or floor locations, maintaining an orderly inventory system.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks for material movement.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or damages in materials or shipments.
- Apply correct lifting techniques to handle heavy items safely and efficiently.
- Support the broader logistics operations by ensuring timely material flow.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Participate in ongoing safety and equipment training programs.
- Ensure all material handling activities comply with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience in a Material Handler or similar warehouse position.
- Valid certification for forklift operation is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to perform demanding physical tasks, including heavy lifting, standing, and moving for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to punctuality.
