Seeking a dedicated Material Handler for our expanding logistics hub in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and safe movement of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting goods to their proper storage locations. Safety is a core value, and all team members are expected to strictly follow safety protocols and utilize provided PPE. This position demands physical strength, precision, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. You will work closely with shipping and receiving teams to maintain inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to and from storage areas.
- Verify counts and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Stack and arrange inventory according to established guidelines.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and diligently use required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to perform significant lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and safety procedures.
- Commitment to wearing PPE at all times.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a demanding environment.
