Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and are properly documented. This role is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of goods into the warehouse. You will work closely with suppliers, delivery drivers, and internal teams to manage the receiving process efficiently. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be responsible for verifying order accuracy against invoices, identifying damaged or missing items, and initiating appropriate actions. Compliance with all safety regulations and warehouse protocols is a top priority. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all established procedures. You will utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to record received goods and update inventory levels in real-time. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential for addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the receiving process. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a growing logistics operation and develop valuable skills in warehouse management and supply chain. Experience with basic computer applications and data entry is necessary. This position may involve some lifting of packages up to 50 lbs. Proper lifting techniques and the use of required PPE will be emphasized.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
  • Inspect goods for damage, discrepancies, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Accurately document all received items using the warehouse management system.
  • Verify quantities and item numbers against shipping documents.
  • Report any damages, shortages, or overages immediately to supervisors.
  • Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding deliveries.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
