We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in New York City, New York. This leadership role is vital to overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all logistics activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management, and a proven track record of motivating teams to achieve operational excellence. You will be responsible for the smooth functioning of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse associates to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement efficient work schedules and assign tasks to team members.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, emphasizing the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices.
- Manage the operation of warehouse equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Analyze workflow and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs within the logistics process.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, and employee concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving logs.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for warehouse staff.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- Implement strategies to meet or exceed operational KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Champion safety initiatives and ensure a hazard-free workplace.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics best practices.
- Proficiency in WMS (Warehouse Management System) software.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all protocols.
