We are seeking a skilled and dependable Material Handler to join our busy logistics hub in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the movement, organization, and tracking of materials throughout the facility. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, assist with loading and unloading shipments, and ensure inventory is stored correctly and safely. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Safety is our top priority; therefore, adherence to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and labeling.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks.
- Keep the work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to ensure the smooth flow of logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification and proven experience operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with inventory control and logistics processes.
