About
We are seeking a robust Material Handler to join our expanding logistics operations in Sacramento, California. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in the movement, storage, and organization of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and prepare items for shipment. This role demands physical strength, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are handled correctly to prevent damage and maintain inventory accuracy. We are looking for individuals with a keen understanding of warehouse operations and a dedication to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Experience with various types of warehouse equipment is essential. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of heavy items, often exceeding 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move raw materials and finished goods to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Perform regular tasks involving frequent lifting of heavy items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including frequent heavy lifting (over 50 lbs).
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
