Join our team as a Material Handler in Seattle, Washington, and become an integral part of our bustling warehouse environment. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. You will be involved in various tasks, including loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring that materials are readily available for production and distribution. A strong emphasis is placed on following safety procedures and utilizing the correct equipment for each task. The Material Handler will work in a fast-paced setting, contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Sort and organize materials, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking activities.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, following all operational guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency within the warehouse and logistics departments.
Requirements:
Experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting and manual dexterity. Understanding of basic warehouse safety principles and procedures. Must be able to work in a team environment and follow instructions carefully. Good communication skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential.
