About
We are hiring a Picker/Packer to join our busy warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. This role is fundamental to our daily operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently processed. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately locating items within the warehouse, picking them for orders, and preparing them for shipment. This involves using scanning technology to track inventory and verify item quantities. You will also be responsible for packing items securely, ensuring they are protected during transit. Maintaining a safe and organized workspace is a critical aspect of this job. You will be expected to follow all company safety guidelines and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk extensively, and perform frequent Lifting of items up to 40 pounds. Our logistics network relies on the precision and speed of our Picker/Packers. We value individuals who are dedicated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced team environment. Comprehensive training on our systems and processes will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order lists or scanner reports.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely into boxes or other shipping containers, using appropriate materials.
- Apply shipping labels and necessary documentation to outgoing packages.
- Operate hand-held scanners for inventory management and order tracking.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations.
- Wear assigned PPE, including safety shoes and gloves, as required.
- Assist with receiving and stocking of new inventory when needed.
- Meet daily picking and packing quotas and quality standards.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an active environment and has a knack for attention to detail. Understanding basic logistics principles is beneficial. The ability to handle consistent Lifting is a must.
