We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is crucial for the efficient operation of our distribution center, ensuring the safe and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and stand-up forklifts. You will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, transporting raw materials to and from production areas, and moving finished products to storage or shipping areas. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is paramount, along with strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. Your commitment to safety and efficiency will directly impact our supply chain operations. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles. You will be expected to perform routine checks on the forklift equipment before and after use to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any defects immediately. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team is essential. Overtime may be required during peak seasons. Strong attention to detail and excellent spatial awareness are key for this role. Your contribution to our logistics network is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding logistics and material handling.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (minimum 1 year).
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
