Join our logistics hub in Kansas City, Missouri, as a Shipping Clerk! This dynamic role is central to ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for generating shipping documentation, packing orders with care, coordinating with various shipping carriers, and maintaining meticulous records of all outbound logistics . A high level of attention to detail and organizational prowess is crucial for success. We place a significant emphasis on workplace safety ; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct utilization of PPE are mandatory. This position involves regular interaction with shipping software and potentially some physical tasks, including the lifting of packages up to 50 pounds. We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual who thrives in a structured environment and is dedicated to ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Your contribution is vital to our supply chain's success.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments.
- Create shipping labels and ensure all documentation is accurate.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for transit.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers.
- Maintain comprehensive shipping records and logs.
- Communicate shipment updates internally and externally as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and utilize all required PPE .
- Assist with inventory and other warehouse tasks, including occasional lifting .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and knowledge of carrier requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Capable of performing tasks requiring occasional lifting .
- Commitment to workplace safety and consistent use of PPE .
