Job Summary:
Join our Washington, D.C. logistics hub as a Material Handler! We are seeking energetic and reliable individuals to support our warehouse operations by moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment. The Material Handler will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, operating manual and powered material handling equipment, and ensuring that all goods are stored correctly and safely. This role is fundamental to the efficiency of our supply chain and requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with other warehouse associates to ensure that orders are processed accurately and on time. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you must adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of heavy items. Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
  • Move materials within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Organize and stack materials in designated storage areas.
  • Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
  • Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Support the overall logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
