Are you a certified Forklift Operator looking for a challenging role in Washington, D.C.? We are seeking skilled individuals to join our **Logistics** team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your expertise is crucial for maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring timely order fulfillment. This role demands a strong focus on **Safety** and adherence to operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring proper placement and securing of goods.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Assist with inventory counts and put-away processes.
- Follow all **Safety** regulations and company guidelines, including the correct use of **PPE**.
- Support overall **Logistics** operations by performing tasks efficiently and accurately.
- While primary focus is forklift operation, occasional **Lifting** of up to 40 lbs may be required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse **Logistics** and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of **Safety** procedures and the ability to operate equipment safely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to wear appropriate **PPE**, such as safety glasses and **PPE** vests.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks related to warehouse work, including occasional **Lifting**.
