About
Our growing logistics operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is looking for skilled Material Handlers to manage the flow of goods within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in moving, storing, and organizing materials, ensuring that our warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will span from receiving raw materials to preparing finished goods for distribution. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to transport goods between different areas of the warehouse. Accurate inventory management, including loading and unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and assisting with cycle counts, will be part of your daily duties. We emphasize a strong safety culture, and adherence to all guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. This position involves considerable lifting and requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stocktaking.
- Organize warehouse stock and manage storage space effectively.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with shipping and receiving documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Proven experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
