About
We are seeking experienced Material Handlers for our Portland, Oregon location. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials and products within our distribution center. This position is key to the efficiency of our logistics operations, ensuring that raw materials and finished goods are where they need to be, when they need to be there. Your tasks will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mechanical equipment to move heavy items, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate inventory records. A strong understanding of warehouse layouts and safety procedures is essential. We maintain a rigorous safety program, and you must be proficient in the use of all required PPE and follow all safety regulations strictly. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, a proven ability to operate machinery safely, and a desire to contribute to a vital part of the supply chain. You will play a critical role in optimizing material flow and ensuring operational efficiency. Teamwork and clear communication are highly valued. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the facility.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Inspect equipment for defects and report any issues immediately.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and other physical tasks.
- Knowledge of material handling techniques and logistics best practices.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of safety.
