Join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This versatile role is crucial for the seamless flow of goods in and out of our distribution center. You will handle a variety of tasks, including receiving incoming shipments, inspecting goods for accuracy and damage, stocking inventory, preparing outgoing orders, and loading/unloading trucks. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products are handled with care and that our logistics operations run efficiently. Proper use of PPE is mandatory, and adherence to all safety protocols is expected. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain broad experience within a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and products.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect items for damage or discrepancies and document any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Stock received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Consistent use of required PPE.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.
