In this role, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and transferring materials within the warehouse. You will operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, to transport goods safely and effectively. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace safety, and adherence to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires the ability to handle various types of materials and work in a dynamic logistics environment. You will work closely with other warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure that all material handling tasks are completed accurately and on time. Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free from hazards to promote safety.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Follow all logistics and shipping documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient material flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, with a capacity of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Commitment to wearing and using appropriate PPE.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles is a plus.
