About
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all orders are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will include verifying order accuracy, selecting appropriate packing materials, and accurately labeling each package for transit. You will be integral to our logistics process, ensuring that shipments leave our facility on time and in perfect condition. This role requires excellent organizational skills and a strong focus on detail to minimize errors and maintain customer satisfaction. You will work closely with our inventory system to track outgoing shipments and maintain accurate records. Safety is a top priority in our warehouse, and all employees are expected to rigorously follow safety protocols and utilize all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves regular lifting and requires the ability to handle packages of varying sizes and weights. Come be a part of our efficient and dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify product counts and accuracy against shipping orders.
- Select and use appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and any required documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all outbound shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and scanners.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks.
- Perform occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and maneuvering of packages.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and shipping procedures.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
