We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for dispatch. Your meticulous attention to detail will be key in verifying order accuracy, selecting appropriate packaging materials, and affixing correct shipping labels. You will work closely with our inventory management system to track outgoing shipments and maintain accurate records. This position is fundamental to our commitment to timely and reliable delivery of products to our customers. You will collaborate with carriers and other warehouse personnel to streamline the shipping process. We place a high emphasis on safety, and all employees must strictly adhere to safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves regular lifting and requires the ability to handle packages of various sizes and weights efficiently. Join our team and play an essential part in our shipping operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments according to company procedures.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests and labels.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure items are packed securely.
- Apply shipping labels accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and pallet jacks.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Perform occasional lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform lifting and maneuvering of packages.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and PPE.
- Good communication skills.
