About
Our St. Louis, Missouri facility is seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics department. This position is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. If you have a keen eye for detail and experience in shipping operations, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Verify shipment details against customer orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., warehousing, sales) regarding shipment status.
- Maintain organized shipping records and filing systems.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any shipping discrepancies or damages to the supervisor.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics process.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role.
- Proficiency in creating shipping documents and using shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity for Lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all protocols.
