The Pearl Nelson Center, a program of the nonprofit The Arc Gateway, offers pediatric speech, occupational, and physical therapies, along with developmental instruction. Our dedicated therapists prioritize the well-being of children, with a special focus on those aged birth to 5 years.
*SUMMARY**:*
We are seeking a licensed *Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist* to join our pediatric team. This position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to provide meaningful, family-centered speech and language services. As part of our team, you'll be at the forefront of our early intervention model, championing interdisciplinary collaboration with physical, occupational, and developmental therapists to provide holistic care to our young patients to achieve meaningful outcomes. You'll also have the opportunity to work closely with families and caregivers, implementing activities that promote feeding, play, communication, and social skill development in children. *KEY ROLES and RESPOSIBILITES:*
A Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for a range of duties that include the following:
· *Perform comprehensive speech & language evaluations* to determine each child’s functional level using standardized assessment tools and clinical observation
· *Develop & implement individualized treatment plans* with measurable, functional goals tailored to the child’s needs and family priorities.
· *Implement therapeutic interventions* addressing expressive and receptive language, articulation and phonological disorders, social/ communication pragmatics and feeding/swallowing challenges.
· *Monitor and document progress* in compliance with state guidelines and reimbursement standards.
· *Collaborate with *families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
· *Educate parents and caregivers* on strategies to practice and how to integrate therapy goals into natural environments
· *Maintain accurate, timely and compliant documentation *in accordance with state, federal, and payer requirements. Ensure documentation supports medical necessity, functional progress, and skilled service delivery
· *Scheduling and Caseload Management *(as outlined in contract)

· Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Must be able to pass Level 2 fingerprint background check, abuse registry clearinghouse, local law enforcement check, and Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
* Must be eligible to become a credentialed provider with Florida Medicaid and other payers.
*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:*
· Master’s degree from accredited university *required.*
· Must meet state requirements for speech therapy licensure
· One year of experience as a pediatric speech language pathologist is preferred, but not required
· Continuing Education Units to maintain Florida license
*CERTIFICATES/LICENSE:*
· Certificate: Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (Preferred)
· Open to hiring Clinical Fellowship clinicians
· Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in good standing
· CPR/First Aid Adult- Infant-Toddler, and HIPAA certifications will be required.
· Proof of liability insurance
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS**: *
· Ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, squat and move frequently throughout the day
· Ability to work at floor level with pediatric clients for extended periods
· Ability to lift, carry up to 25-40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
· Ability to engage in active play-based therapy activities
· Ability to use hands, vision and hearing for assessments and documentation
