About
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Civil Engineer, preferably with a focus on either water resources or geotechnical engineering with a minimum of 5 years' previous experience and should ideally have their PE however, the client is also willing to consider candidates with their EIT who are working towards their PE.
The focus of the role will be to provide design, oversight and consultation on various projects which focus on the geotechnical and water resources aspect of the planning and construction project.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Masters' Degree in Civil Engineering is preffered but a Bachelors' Degree will also be considered, educational backgrounds with a speciality in water resources or geotechnical will be highly advantageous.
* Minimum of 5 years' previous experience in a Civil Engineering role
* Professional Engineer Certification is highly desirable
* EIT working towards PE will also be considered.
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit and other relevant design software.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Strong project oversight skills, ability to manage clients expectations and consult throughout the project.
Duties & Role:
* *Site investigation:* Conduct field and laboratory tests to analyze the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of soil, rock, and groundwater.
* *Structural design:* Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other earth-retaining structures to ensure stability.
* *Risk assessment:* Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with geological hazards such as landslides and sinkholes.
* *Project support:* Provide geotechnical expertise for mining infrastructure, dams, levees, and other civil works projects.
* *System design:* Design and manage systems for water supply, irrigation, wastewater treatment, and flood control.
* *Stormwater management:* Develop systems for managing stormwater runoff to prevent flooding and enhance groundwater recharge, often through sustainable methods like permeable pavements.
* *Hydraulic modeling:* Use software to simulate and analyze water flow in systems like rivers and pipes.
* *Water quality management:* Perform water sampling and analysis to study and address water quality issues.
* *Project management:* Supervise project teams, manage timelines, and resolve technical issues to ensure high-quality deliverables.
* *Client interaction:* Meet with clients to discuss project progress, findings, and potential solutions.
* *Data analysis:* Analyze data from site investigations and computer models to inform designs.
* *Technical quality control:* Ensure the technical quality of all project deliverables and that safety standards are maintained on-site.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
