About
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. Your primary role will be to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. This includes loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments, transporting materials to designated storage areas, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, with a strong emphasis on **safety** and proper operation. A solid understanding of **logistics** principles is highly advantageous for this position. Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work environment is a key responsibility, along with strict adherence to all company **safety** protocols and the mandatory use of **PPE**. This role requires the ability to perform **lifting** of materials weighing up to 60 lbs regularly. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and rotation.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following all operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and **safe** work environment.
- Adhere to all company **safety** policies and **PPE** requirements.
- Support the efficiency and effectiveness of **logistics** operations.
- Participate in **lifting** and moving of materials up to 60 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse setting.
- Certification and/or proven experience operating forklifts and other MHE.
- Ability to **lift** and manipulate objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with **logistics** and warehouse management systems.
- Strong commitment to workplace **safety** and consistent **PPE** usage.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
