About
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in San Diego, California. This position is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse and logistics operations. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, moving inventory, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Material Handler must have a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and be proficient in operating material handling equipment. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. We are committed to creating a safe workplace where all employees feel protected.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage.
- Move inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper movement and tracking.
- Keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from hazards.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to reinforce safe practices.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics and supply chain.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing PPE consistently.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
