About
We have an opening for a Receiving Clerk in our Washington, D.C. location. This role is critical for managing the flow of goods into our facility, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment products arrive. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, inspecting goods for damage, verifying contents against purchase orders, and accurately entering receiving data into our system. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are paramount. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. We emphasize adherence to all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE. This is a great opportunity to contribute to our logistics operations and gain valuable experience.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming inventory for put-away.
- Communicate any receiving issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or logistics is preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Physical capability to handle products, including lifting and standing.
