We are seeking energetic and reliable individuals to manage the flow of materials within our busy distribution center. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely. Your role involves handling a variety of materials, from small components to larger items, ensuring they are accurately accounted for and transported to their designated locations. This position requires physical exertion, including significant lifting, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure and orderly workspace. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to support our complex logistics operations. The ideal candidate possesses a diligent work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Sort, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking activities.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Load and unload trucks and containers with efficiency.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or discrepancies in inventory.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations of the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50-70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with basic material handling equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina for demanding tasks.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, urban logistics environment.
