Our dynamic logistics company is seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all outbound shipments are accurately processed, packaged, and dispatched on time. This includes verifying order details, selecting appropriate shipping materials, operating shipping software, and coordinating with carriers. The ideal candidate possesses excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of warehouse operations. You will play a crucial part in the efficient flow of goods and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments.
- Accurately prepare and package outgoing orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using our internal systems.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed, which may involve moderate Lifting .
- Support the Logistics team in optimizing shipping processes.
- Ensure all activities are performed with a strong focus on Safety and efficiency.
