Join our growing team as a Material Handler in Richmond, Virginia. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our warehouse and the broader logistics network. You will be responsible for handling, storing, and moving a variety of materials, ensuring they are ready for subsequent processes or shipment. We maintain a strong focus on workplace safety, providing necessary training and requiring the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and store incoming materials and products.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other conveyances.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure materials are properly organized and stored to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and procedures, including mandated PPE usage.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth material flow.
Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is preferred. Ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 60 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Basic understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential.
