We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and assisting with physical inventories. You will utilize our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels, generate reports, and identify trends. A strong understanding of inventory principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. You will work closely with various departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to ensure seamless inventory management. Safety is a top priority, and you will ensure that all inventory processes comply with safety regulations, including proper handling and storage, and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Your expertise is vital to optimizing our supply chain and minimizing losses. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or overages.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure accurate data entry and integrity within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Manage the put-away process to ensure items are stored correctly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices and safety procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management and overall logistics operations.
