Role Summary
Reporting to the S&OP Manager, the Demand Planner is
accountable for leading the Consensus Demand Planning (CDP) process for all Accounts
and Lines of Business. The Demand Planner is responsible for developing,
maintaining, and optimizing demand forecasts by leveraging data-driven
insights, stakeholder collaboration, and analytical tools. The role ensures
forecast accuracy and bias KPIs are achieved while aligning S&OP and supply
chain goals, and business objectives to enable data-driven decision-making and
improve forecast reliability.
Responsibilities
Lead the Consensus Demand Planning (CDP) process across all Accounts and Lines of Business, ensuring timely and accurate forecast submission, validation, and alignment.
Collaborate closely with Business Unit Directors, Technical Account Managers (TAMs), and Supply Chain (Planning) team to integrate market intelligence, customer insights, and sales input into a unified demand plan.
Analyze historical data, sales trends, seasonality, and market dynamics to continuously refine statistical forecasts and improve accuracy.
Monitor and report Forecast Accuracy, Bias, and DPA metrics, highlighting root causes of variances and developing corrective actions.
Facilitate Monthly Demand Review sessions as part of the S&OP process, providing clear analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
Support the development and maintenance of stocking policies to ensure optimal inventory levels and service performance.
Partner with the Supply Chain (Planning) team to ensure alignment between demand signals, inventory strategy, and replenishment plans.
Support new product introductions, discontinuations, and portfolio transitions, ensuring demand visibility and planning continuity.
Maintain and improve forecast dashboards and analytics using Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and other planning tools to provide visibility to business stakeholders.
Work with IT and Data teams to ensure data integrity across systems.
Identify and lead opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital enablement within the demand planning and S&OP framework.
Skills
Analytical and Data Visualization skills
Expertise in Power BI, Tableau, Power Query
Strong Data storytelling and presentation capabilities
Strong understanding of statistical modelling and forecasting principles
Proficient in developing dashboards and performance reports
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
Time management and prioritization under tight timelines
Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Analytics, or related field
5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, or Supply Chain Analytics
Strong knowledge of ERP systems
Knowledge on Financial Budgeting
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and Excel Power Query
Advanced Excel skills
Understanding of S&OP process
Proven ability to analyze data and deliver clear, actionable insights
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in specialty chemicals, distribution
Working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or other analytical tools
Exposure to Salesforce integration
Experience designing automated dashboards or forecast trackers
APICS / CPIM / CSCP certification or equivalent
