What will you do?

  • The Auto Underwriter will be responsible for managing a high priority broker relationship such as our large National brokers. They will be responsible for building strong relationships which can enable trading of commercial business to improve the commercial portfolio
  • In addition to developing broker relationships, quoting, binding, and servicing profitable auto business, the successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of business with a significant amount of GWP, and managing underwriting referrals. This position requires proficiency in technical underwriting and the ability to develop and maintain key relationships with strategic partners to help increase our market share within targeted areas.

What will you need to succeed?

  • 2 years of commercial auto underwriting experience
  • University degree, college diploma or equivalent experience
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CIP (FCIP) designation
  • Proven experience providing genuine customer service to broker partners by presenting commercial insurance solutions specific to the needs of the client
  • Proficient underwriting skills, sound judgement, decision making, negotiation and analytical ability
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Proficient skill with computer applications including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet with broker partners throughout Ontario
