About
Seeking a motivated Picker/Packer to join our fast-paced distribution center in Richmond, Virginia. In this essential role, you will be responsible for accurately picking products to fulfill customer orders and meticulously packing them for shipment. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive their orders correctly and on time, contributing directly to the success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick requested items from warehouse inventory using order sheets or scanning technology.
- Verify product accuracy and quantities before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring product protection during transit.
- Select the correct shipping labels and apply them to packages.
- Operate packing equipment and machinery safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing station and overall work area.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any damages, discrepancies, or potential safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Must be comfortable with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking and packing or general warehouse work is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and shipping instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good manual dexterity and speed.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Understanding of basic logistics and shipping procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting.
