Semiprecious is a neighborhood cocktail bar located in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver, offering an innovative, tech-driven cocktail menu in an intimate and stylish setting. As a bartender at Semiprecious, you'll play a central role in creating an exceptional guest experience, combining creativity and expertise to deliver innovative yet approachable cocktails. Utilizing your expertise and professionalism to be well-versed in all in-house food and beverage offerings, while contributing to a laid-back, neighborhood environment where exceptional hospitality is of the highest priority. In addition to bartending, you'll support all aspects of service operations as needed – from restocking and replenishment to tableside guest service and floor support – helping to maintain a smooth and collaborative flow throughout the space.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Welcome all guests warmly, take orders accurately, and prepare alcoholic beverages in alignment with company standards and recipes.
- Attend all shifts and staff meetings punctually, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
- Prepare and stock all necessary batches and garnishes to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of house and classic cocktails, as well as the full range of offered spirits.
- Ensure proper glassware handling, adhering to wash line standards for all types.
- Exhibit proficiency in fundamental bartending techniques, including shaking, stirring, jiggering, and pouring.
- Manage liquor, beer, and wine requisitions while maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Handle payments in accordance with established cash handling protocols.
- Thoughtfully suggest and serve food and beverage offerings to guests.
- Maintain a clean, organized bar with polished glassware, well-presented garnishes, and back-bar bottles properly aligned.
- Operate bar equipment and utensils safely and respectfully, prioritizing care and efficiency.
- Verify inventory accuracy, ensuring it corresponds with cash register totals.
- Provide efficient, recipe-compliant service while promptly addressing guest requests and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform assigned opening, closing, sidework, and deep-cleaning duties.
- Offer assistance to team members proactively, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Uphold brand standards and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
- Deliver attentive, prompt, and courteous service while maintaining positive interactions with guests and team members.
- Respect the confidentiality of bartender-guest interactions.
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Thoughtfully suggest and serve food and beverage offerings, ensuring accuracy, presentation quality, and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate food and beverage service seamlessly between the lounge and bar areas, ensuring a cohesive guest experience.
- Collaborate with all team members to confirm orders are delivered as requested and maintain consistency with menu standards.
- Support all areas of service between bar, lounge, kitchen and prep to ensure a cohesive and consistent guest experience
- Execute all responsibilities, maintaining a high standard of service throughout operating hours. This includes managing glassware cycles, consistently replenishing bar stock, and taking initiative with setup and breakdown duties.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively provide refills, additional items, or support without being prompted.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, including resetting tables and supporting overall floor upkeep during serviceStay informed about menu changes, seasonal offerings, and allergen details to confidently address guest inquiries and dietary needs.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs
- Ability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height
- Able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grab
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in work area
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8 hour shift
- Must be able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needs
- Must meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Must be able to serve all menu products
- Must be able to operate point of sale system
- Must be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
- Minimum Age requirements of 21.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Meets uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift.
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements.
- Must meet any state, country or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling and legal requirements for serving alcohol.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights and weekends.
- Possesses excellent guest service skills.
- Able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions.
