Join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a Material Handler and be a key player in our warehouse operations. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or further processing. This includes operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring a clean and organized workspace are critical aspects of this position. We prioritize safety above all else, and all employees are required to adhere to strict safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques. This is a demanding but rewarding position within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Load and unload materials from incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Move inventory from receiving areas to storage locations and vice versa.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts through diligent tracking and reporting.
- Stage materials for order fulfillment and shipment preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with order picking and packing when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics supply chain.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 75 lbs, consistently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Commitment to safety, including adherence to PPE guidelines, is crucial for success in this logistics role.
