Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator in Des Moines, Iowa! We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring all products are handled with care and accuracy, contributing directly to our overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist other warehouse associates as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
