Backend Software Engineer

0?1 impact opportunity . What Youll Do Design and build core backend systems including APIs, database architecture, infrastructure, and data pipelines. Own features end-to-endfrom requirement gathering and technical spec creation through deployment and iteration. Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape technical decisions and long-term platform direction. Work in a fast-moving environment that values experimentation, rapid release cycles, and constant learning. Contribute to a platform designed to improve clinical workflows and enhance the healthcare experience for providers and patients.
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of experience building and shipping backend production systems. Strong background with modern backend technologies, such as: Cloud platforms: AWS or GCP Databases: Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, Spanner, etc. APIs: REST/gRPC/GraphQL Data pipelines: Airflow, Dagster, or similar Languages: Python, Golang, Java/Kotlin, or similar
Experience building something meaningful from scratchwhether at a startup, as a technical lead, or through side projects. Ability to thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and make thoughtful technical trade-offs. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions clearly.
Nice-to-Have Experience
Experience with BaaS platforms like Supabase, Firebase, Railway, or Hasura. Familiarity with AI-native coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code). Exposure to healthcare systems (HIPAA, EPCS, PDMP, EHR/EMR workflows). Basic front-end skills with React, TypeScript, or Next.js.
