About
Join our bustling distribution center in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Picker/Packer! This role is the heart of our fulfillment process, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently prepared for shipment. You will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves and meticulously packaging them for delivery. This is a physically active role requiring speed, accuracy, and a commitment to quality. Our logistics operations depend on the diligence of our Picker/Packers. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick specified items from warehouse locations based on order tickets.
- Inspect items for damage before packaging.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contribute to overall warehouse cleanliness.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Meet established productivity targets for picking and packing.
- Assist with receiving and stocking duties as needed.
- Follow correct lifting techniques to avoid injury.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a warehouse environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand order tickets and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse safety practices and willingness to use PPE.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player attitude.
