About
We are looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, relocating inventory, and ensuring materials are staged correctly for production or shipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to Safety are paramount. You will play a key part in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and supporting our logistics network. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced in various types of forklifts. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a proactive approach to task management are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and organize materials.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Operate equipment efficiently to meet productivity goals.
- May involve some manual Lifting of lighter items when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring occasional Lifting and maneuvering.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
