About
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods throughout our facility. Your duties will encompass receiving, stocking, picking, and preparing materials for shipment. Operating various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, will be a key part of your daily tasks. This position demands a strong understanding of logistics, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount to ensure smooth operations and minimize errors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments with high accuracy.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or safety hazards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the correct use of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts if needed.
