Position Title: Hybrid Cloud Architect Location: Schriever Space Force Base - Colorado Springs, CO Relocation Assistance: None available at this time Remote/Telework: Not available - On-site only Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret (TS/SCI eligible) Work Schedule: Day Shift Travel: Up to 10% Position Summary: Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Architect to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the IRES (Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions) contract. This role involves providing advanced engineering and technical direction to develop, secure, and manage cloud-based solutions across mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will design scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure, lead architectural decisions, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the contract. Key Responsibilities: * Provide engineering and technical leadership in defining requirements, architecture, and implementation strategies * Design secure, scalable cloud solutions aligned with DoD mandates and mission objectives * Ensure cloud and on-prem computing environments meet all security compliance standards * Collaborate across development, network, and systems administration teams to optimize cloud workflows * Deploy and manage virtual networks and hybrid computing/storage environments * Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation * Identify and mitigate risks related to cloud-based data management and system performance * Advise stakeholders and leadership on best practices, emerging tools, and strategic improvements * Evaluate architectural alternatives and develop hybrid cloud strategies encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models Additional Expectations: * Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication * Work collaboratively in matrixed technical environments supporting multiple mission stakeholders Minimum Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required due to clearance and government contract requirements * Must have an active DoD Secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI * Must have 7 or more years of direct experience in technical architecture within complex IT environments * Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM field * Must have working knowledge of cloud architectures, including OS, virtualization, orchestration, scalability, and multi-tenancy * Must have experience deploying capabilities to DoD-authorized Cloud Service Providers * Must hold or be able to obtain a current IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) within 60 days of hire Desired Qualifications: * Master's degree in a relevant STEM or engineering field * AWS or Azure Solutions Architect certifications * CISSP or CASP+ certifications * Experience with Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) * Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation * Experience with Agile project leadership and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) * Familiarity with one or more programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell) * Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms like VMware or OpenShift * Experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Compensation: * Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 annually.
