*Responsibilities*
* Assist veterinarian with medical examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision.
* Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
* Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret basic results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
* Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as animal catheterization, wound management, and sample collection to prevent infection.
* Manage dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning .
* Handle pet care tasks including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery.
* Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to safety standards; assist with radiographic positioning for accurate imaging.
* Support animal husbandry activities for a variety of species including dogs and cats, ; ensure proper housing and nutrition.
* Maintain detailed medical records and assist in client communication by explaining veterinary terminology clearly.
* Support kennel operations by managing animal intake/outtake processes and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
*Experience*
* Previous veterinary technician experience is required.
* Demonstrated kennel experience along with dog handling skills to manage diverse temperaments effectively.
* Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology to assist in diagnostics and treatment plans.
* Laboratory experience including sample processing and analysis to support clinical decisions.
* Equine experience is a plus for clinics that handle larger animals or provide specialized care.
* Skills in pet grooming and pet care routines that promote comfort and well-being of animals in our facility.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
