Position Overview:
As an Software Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing features and systems that support the Words With Friends game. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with the Unity3D engine, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative team focused on innovation and delivering a seamless player experience. You will help build new gameplay features and technical systems, directly impacting the future of one of the most beloved word games.
What You'll Do:
- Build new games and features seen by millions of players on Android and iOS
- Work on various app components from gameplay to UI to networking
- Brainstorm new ideas for games and features with the team
- Work with an agile team of other developers, artists and product managers
- Participate in studio hackathons to build cool new game ideas and awesome features
- Learn the latest technologies and best practices with your own mentor
What You Bring:
- Development experience with Unity and C# is highly beneficial.
- Prior internship or hands-on experience building Unity games is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of APIs, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design.
- Experience with source control and versioning tools (Git preferred).
- Familiarity with Android, iOS native development.
- Knowledge of mobile-specific concepts, including UI, networking, threading, and storage.
- Adaptability to evolving requirements and new technologies.
- Excels in dynamic, agile team environments.
- Passionate about games with a keen interest in the latest mobile trends

The pay range for this position in Toronto, Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $35 and $39 per hour.
However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
