Design Engineer

BASIC EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

Every Q2 Artificial Lift Services employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Specific responsibilities include the following:

• Leading by example by following established Quality, Health and Safety policies & procedures.
• Demonstrate respect for company facilities, equipment, and workspaces.
• Being responsible – on time for work and take breaks during designated times.
• Carrying out other tasks assigned by a supervisor or request for assistance as needed.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with Engineering team in drafting, designing and everyday tasks.
• Create and develop 3D models and drawings using Inventor.
• Implementing quality assurance procedures for production and processes.
• Maintenance of production drawings ensuring accuracy, organization and completeness including revision history.
• Work on new product deliverables, manufacturing deliverables and operational deliverables.
• Communicate with all Q2 North American pump shops for field non-conformities, new product development and Engineering support.
• Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure project goals and tasks are completed within established deadlines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, fabrication and welders to improve design and increase efficiency.
• Research and implement conceptual designs, optimized material and procedures.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, insights, and actionable outcomes.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
• 1 year of drafting experience minimum.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Proficient in Inventor / SolidWorks is essential.
• CFD / FEA knowledge would be an asset.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Power BI experience is an asset.
• Detail-oriented, well organized.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Mechanically oriented.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Office setting.
• Some heavy lifting may be required.
