Our growing logistics company in Washington, D.C. is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist. This key role involves overseeing all aspects of inventory management to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and stock availability. You will be responsible for tracking stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize losses. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of inventory management best practices. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across all SKUs.
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate receiving and shipping documentation.
- Collaborate with purchasing and sales departments to manage stock levels.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in inventory records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Promote and enforce Safety protocols and the use of appropriate PPE.
- Identify and report any potential issues related to storage or handling that could impact inventory integrity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to team goals.
- Understanding of Safety standards in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with physical inventory counting and variance investigation.
