The Electronic / Optronic Repair Technician is responsible for repairing equipment as assigned by the Weapons and Ancillary Equipment Repair Section Supervisor. The technician's qualifications and experience must align with customer requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform corrective, preventative, and modification maintenance on optical, optronic, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as assigned ancillary equipment.
- Research and order repair parts.
- Conduct range duties as required.
- Prepare and assist with Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRs) and Technical Failure Reports (TFRs) for submission to the Control Office.
- Complete personal timesheets.
- Operate and service both trade-specific and general hand and power tools.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free workspaces and areas.
- Ensure the security of all equipment in the repair section.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or department manager.
Education Requirements
Degree or Diploma in:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
The Following Certifications/designations Are Considered a Requirement
- Canadian Reg Forces QL5 (DP2) Electronic/Optronic Tech Certificate

- Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.*
